QA Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with at least 5 years in software quality assurance to join our team in a full-time position. The role offers flexibility regarding location, with options for on-site, hybrid, or remote work. As a QA Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts. Your input will be instrumental in defining test strategies, identifying issues early, and supporting the release of stable, high-quality products.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, API, UI, and cross-browser
• Build and maintain automated test scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelines
• Log, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and release readiness reviews
• Conduct basic performance and security checks when necessary
• Mentor junior QA team members and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes

Key Responsibilities

• Own the quality assurance process for web and mobile application releases
• Ensure early identification of gaps and testability issues in requirements
• Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test suites
• Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and delivery pipelines
• Accurately document and prioritize defects for resolution
• Support the team in maintaining a high standard of product quality and reliability
• Guide and mentor less experienced QA staff
• Contribute to refining and improving overall QA best practices and processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance
• Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Proficiency in API testing tools, including Postman or REST Assured
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (Java, JavaScript, or Python)
• Experience with test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr
• Solid SQL skills for effective data validation

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• Background in performance testing using tools like JMeter or k6
• Experience with mobile application testing using Appium
• ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications
• Familiarity with testing SaaS or AI-based products
